ironchan

Terms of service

Last updated 14 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and IronCircles, which operates ironchan.com. Using ironchan, browsing it, holding an account on it, posting to it, means you accept them.

01What ironchan is

ironchan is a place to collect media, remix it with AI, and share it into circles you choose, public, discoverable, or private. It is a hosted service, meaning your uploads sit on our storage and are served from it.

ironchan is fully moderated. Human moderation requires that a reviewer can open and see what was reported. If you are looking for true privacy, use IronCircles instead, our E2E encrypted product.

02Who may hold an account

You must be at least 18 years old to use ironchan. You will need an account to post, upload, generate, or comment. Browsing public circles does not require an account; everything that writes does.

One person, one account is the rule. Do not create an account on behalf of someone who is barred from the service, and do not sell or transfer your handle.

03Your account is a handle and a password, and nothing else

ironchan does not ask for your email address, your phone number, or your legal name. The direct consequence, stated plainly because people are surprised by it later: there is no password reset, because there is nowhere to send one. Your password and your recovery codes are the only way into your account. Lose both and the account and everything in it is gone, permanently, and we cannot restore it for you, not as policy, but because we cannot.

Two-factor authentication is set up during registration and we strongly recommend keeping it on. You are responsible for what happens under your handle, including by anyone you let use it.

04What you may not post

These are absolute. They apply to uploads, to AI generations, to post and comment text, to circle names and covers, and to anything shared by link.

  • Sexual content involving a minor. Any depiction, real, drawn, or generated. This is reported to the authorities and the account is terminated.
  • Real violence or gore: genuine harm to a person or an animal, including content that celebrates or incites it.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery: a real person who did not agree to the image existing or to it being shared here.
  • Someone else's work, posted as your own: stolen, resold, or stripped of a watermark or credit.
  • Content that is illegal where it is served, or that exists to facilitate something illegal.
  • Targeted harassment of a person, doxxing, or threats.
  • Spam, scams, malware, and bulk automated posting.
  • Impersonation of a person or an organization, including us.

Also off-limits: scraping, hammering, or reverse-engineering the service; circumventing security, a quota, a paywall, or the human check; and using ironchan to build a competing dataset out of other people's uploads.

05Moderation, and who can see your uploads

Anything reported is hidden from its circle the moment the report lands, and an IronCircles reviewer looks at it. To do that, a reviewer can view the reported item, including a private one, and every such view is written to an audit log with the reviewer's identity and their stated reason.

Access is scoped to safety work. We do not read your library for any other purpose, we cannot read your password, and we do not sell or share your content or your activity with anyone.

A reviewer can remove an item, remove a post or comment, or suspend or terminate an account. Because an ironchan account has no email address, the notice that this happened to you appears in Notices inside the app, that is the only place it exists, so it is worth checking. Circle owners and moderators can independently take down posts inside their own circles.

06Running a circle

Creating a circle makes you its owner, and an owner can appoint moderators. Both are jobs, not badges. If you own or moderate a circle, you are responsible for seeing that section 4 is upheld inside it: in the posts and comments members leave there, and in the circle's own name, cover, and description.

You have the tools for it. An owner or moderator can take down any post in their circle, pull a single item out of one, remove a comment, and remove a member, and an owner decides who can get in at all: private by invite, discoverable by request, public to anyone, with a passcode on top if you want one. Takedowns are recorded with who did them and when, and the author is told their content was removed. They are not told which moderator did it.

Nobody expects you to be watching at three in the morning. What is expected is that you act once you know, whether you saw it yourself or a member told you, and that you do not run a circle whose actual purpose is something section 4 forbids. A circle used that way is removed whole, and the accounts of the people running it go with it, whether or not they posted any of it themselves.

Two things are ours and not yours. Report anything illegal rather than quietly deleting it; a report reaches us whether or not you have already taken the post down, and a removal inside your circle is not a report. And never gather, keep, or pass on material involving a minor in order to show anyone what you found, including us. Report it and leave it alone.

Do not use moderator powers against people who report things. Reporters are never named to a circle's owner or moderators, and treating a report as something to retaliate for costs you the circle.

07Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you upload or generate. You give us the permission we need to run the service and nothing beyond it: to store your files, to process them (thumbnails, transcodes, format conversion), and to display them to the people you have shared them with, which for a public circle means anyone, including people without an account. That permission ends when you delete the content, subject to section 10.

You confirm you have the rights to what you post, and that posting it here does not break a promise you made to someone else.

We do not use your uploads to train models.

08AI generation

Generated images and video are made by third-party models we call on your behalf. Your prompt is checked before it runs and some prompts are refused. A generation that clears the filter is not an endorsement: you are responsible for what you ask for and for what you then do with the result, and everything in section 4 applies to a generated file exactly as it applies to an uploaded one.

Models are non-deterministic and imperfect. We do not promise a particular result, that a result is unique, or that it is free of resemblance to existing work.

09IronCoin and payments

Generation is paid for in IronCoin, bought in packs through PayPal. Coins are a prepaid balance for use inside IronCircles products, they are not money, they carry no cash value, they earn nothing, and they cannot be transferred, sold, or cashed out.

  • Coins are spent when a generation is submitted. A generation that fails on our side is refunded to your balance automatically; one that succeeds and merely disappoints you is not.
  • Pack prices are shown at the moment of purchase and are what you pay. We can change prices for future purchases.
  • Purchases are final

Chargebacks on coins already spent will result in your account being suspended and your ip blocked

10Storage, deletion, and what we keep

Every account has a storage quota and uploads and generations both count against it. Over the limit, writes are refused until you free space or raise the tier; we do not delete your files to make room.

Deleting an item or a collection is immediate and permanent. There is no trash and no undo. One exception, and it is deliberate: anything a moderation report has ever touched is preserved rather than deleted, including after the case is closed, because preservation duties outlive a resolved case and an audit trail pointing at nothing is worse than a refusal. The app tells you when something was held back for this reason

We keep account records, moderation cases, and audit logs for as long as we need them for safety and legal purposes, which is longer than we keep anything else.

11Ads

Some surfaces carry sponsored units. There is no ad auction, no behavioural targeting, and nothing about you is read to choose one beyond whether you have paid to remove them. Paying removes every unit except our own house ads for IronCircles products.

12Suspension, termination, and the service itself

We can remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, immediately and without notice where the content is illegal or someone is at risk, and with a notice in the app otherwise. You can stop using ironchan at any time, and you can delete your own content under section 10.

ironchan is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, that a feature will continue to exist, or that your data cannot be lost, keep your own copy of anything you would be sorry to lose. IronCircles is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost content, or for lost profit, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

You agree to cover us against claims arising from content you posted or from your use of the service in breach of these terms.

13Copyright complaints

If something here is yours and was posted without your permission, use the in app reporting option and we will take it down

14Changes, and the law that applies

We can change these terms. When we change something that matters, the date at the top moves. Continuing to use ironchan after that means you accept the new version; if you do not, stop using the service and delete your content.
